Reseña de Lorraine Caputo para Viva travel guides

Just a half-block from the port is Corrientes’ first backpacker hostel, Bienvenida Golondrina. It is tranquil destination for migratory golondrinas (swallows, or backpackers) to rest before continuing their journey to Iguazú, Salta or Esteros del Iberá. Its century-old building has been carefully restored, allowing the ceiling murals, marble and parquet floors to gleam once more. Paintings of the river brighten the lobby’s windows.

The hostel has many quiet sitting areas, interior patios and a rooftop terrace where guests may write letters or read. The four to six person dorms have sturdy bunk beds with lockers. The gender-assigned bathrooms are clean. Owner Florencia, who speaks English, has excellent information about cultural events and tourism.
